TYPE, Weston’s own emerging indie rock band will compete in the Grand Final of The Underdog, at the o2 Academy in Bristol on the 2nd September; doors open at 18.30. TYPE will be competing against five other finalists from different genres from, rap, rock and metal bands - who have all battled their way through three rounds of competition to become the six finalists.
TYPE will perform five of their own high energy, crowd pleasing songs during their twenty minute set including ‘Fantasy’, ‘Race you to the top’ and ‘Ask me Twice’. These songs have electrified audiences over the last four years at venues including The Louisiana, The Fleece and even Banksy’s world renowned Dismaland exhibition in the band’s hometown of Weston.
“This is the second time we’ve entered the competition, we are buzzing to be in the final and are so grateful to our mates who have turned up each round and to Jon Spencer for setting up the event. Competition is high but we would really like to win. The Underdog has been brilliant for us because we’ve learnt how to consistently promote ourselves over social media which we were bog at before. I’d definitely recommend it to any unsigned bands” Harry Binding (Frontman)
TYPE have been helped by a fantastic mentoring scheme M.A.S. and Factory Studios in Bristol - who provide advice to thirty up and coming selected bands each year. With their help TYPE have have already been in the studio and will be releasing their first anticipated single later in the year.
